Family of ‘brilliant and funny’ teenager who died on the railway pay tribute to him

The family of Harry Basham, 17, who very sadly died earlier today while on his way to work are paying tribute to him.

Officers were called to the line near Taunton at around 7am today (24 October) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Paramedics also attended, however despite their best efforts Harry was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Harry’s family paid tribute to him, saying:

“We are absolutely devastated at the loss of our son, brother, and grandson Harry. He was such a brilliant and funny lad, progressing well into adulthood and so incredibly talented at sports and so much more.

“He was and forever will be a star to all of us, and we will miss him and hold him close to us in our hearts always.”

Harry’s family have released this photo of him. We would now ask for their privacy to be respected as they come to terms with their tragic loss.
