CCTV image released following assault – South East London

Officers investigating an assault on board a train between Cannon Street and Orpington have released this image in connection.

At around 9.20pm on Thursday 21 May, a man became verbally abusive and aggressive, threatening to kill passengers before assaulting a man.

When other people attempted to intervene and restrain him, he bit another passenger’s finger causing a deep injury with nerve and ligament damage.

The man continued to act aggressively, attempting to assault other people before leaving the train at New Cross station.

Officers would like to speak to the man pictured, as they believe they may have information which could help their investigation.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 717 of 21 May.
