Appeal for witnesses after woman robbed at cash machine – Glasgow

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman was robbed at a cash machine at Glasgow Queen Street station.

Just after 9pm on Saturday 18 July, a man approached a woman at the station and claimed he needed money to travel to travel to Nottingham.

The woman said she had no money, and the man responded by threatening to use a weapon to attack her if she didn’t show him her bank account.

He then made the woman walk to a nearby cash machine and, while he was stood behind her, withdraw £40 in cash.

The woman passed the money to the man who then walked out of the station.

The man is described as Asian in his late 20s, 5ft10 and of medium build. He had short black hair with a trimmed beard and was wearing sunglasses, a white shirt and black tie, a brown coat and black trousers.

Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information, to contact BTP by texting 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 133 of 19 July.
