Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was assaulted during an attempted knife-point robbery in Birmingham.
At around 9.20pm yesterday (Tuesday 6 October), the victim was sat in the Birmingham New Street walkway between Moor Street and Stephenson Street, adjacent to the railway station.
Another man approached him, pulling out a machete and demanding he hand over his phone.
The victim pulled up his arm to defend himself before fleeing, suffering a slash wound to the back of his hand which required treatment in hospital.
The man then left the area shortly afterwards, and no arrests have been made in connection.
Detectives are urgently appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward, including other people who were in the underpass at the time.
