PC Anil Chutte attended a gross misconduct hearing between 23rd and 25th June 2026 at the PSD Offices, 10 Toft Green, York, where he answered allegations that his conduct amounted to breaches of the Standards of Professional Behaviour, in respect of:
It was alleged that PC Chutte Between 16 May 2025 and 4 September 2025, took and retained BTP vehicle without a legitimate policing purpose or appropriate authority.
Used the vehicle on multiple occasions for personal, non-operational purposes.
Failed to comply with a lawful instruction issued on 1 September 2025 to return the vehicle and instead continued to use it for personal reasons.
It was further alleged that he failed to comply with force policy relating to the taking home and use of police vehicles.
It was alleged that these matters individually and/or cumulatively amounted to gross misconduct, namely a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour that, if proved, were so serious as to justify dismissal.
The panel found all allegations proven and that PC Chutte's actions amounted to gross misconduct and he was dismissed without notice.
