Officers are today releasing a CCTV image following a report of a woman spitting on a passenger.
At around 7.30am on Wednesday 8 April a man boarded a train at Birmingham New Street with his three dogs.
A woman also boarded the service and as she walked past the man she began shouting at him before spitting in his face.
Officers believe the woman in the image may have information which could help their investigation.
If you recognise her or have any information, please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 940 of 8 April.
Information can also be given to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
