Detectives investigating an assault at Kilmarnock railway station are today appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The victim, a man in his 30s, was travelling on a train to Kilmarnock on 27 December at 7:55pm when he got into an altercation on board with a group of seven men. The victim got off the train at Kilmarnock where he was assaulted by the group who repeatedly kicked him and stomped on his head.
The group of men were described as late teens or early twenties.
