A serving British Transport Police (BTP) officer is due to appear at court charged with one count of assault by beating, following an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
PC Adrian Young, who is based in London, will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 9 April.
The charges relate to an incident on 22 September 2024 involving a 15-year-old girl while on duty at Camden Road underground station. BTP received a complaint in October from a witness to the incident and they referred the incident to the IOPC.
PC Young was suspended from duty following the incident.
