A 34-year-old man has been given a five year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) after exposing himself at Birmingham New Street Station.
Following a British Transport Police investigation, David Buckler DOB 8/12/1990 , of No Fixed Address, pleaded guilty to exposure and not guilty to sexual assault on Friday 29 November.
He was found guilty and sentenced at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Tuesday 21 January.
He was handed a 6 month community order, to include 30 days rehabilitation order, fined £120 and ordered to pay court costs of £110, sign the sex offenders register for the next 7 years and was handed a five year SHPO.
Conditions of his SHPO include;
The Court heard how on Wednesday 27 November last year at around 3pm Buckler approached a young girl outside the station and sexually assaulted her while walking with his trousers pulled down exposing himself
Investigating officer Matt Kania said "Buckler behaved in a totally unacceptable manner, not only was it in broad daylight but at a time the station entrance was very busy. I would like to thank the victim and witnesses for supporting this investigation.
“We take all reports of sexual harassment and unwanted sexual behaviour seriously and will support victims throughout our investigations.
