A 44-year-old man has been jailed after he assaulted a woman at Bangor Railway Station last Monday.
Roland Doano of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to assault at Caernarfon Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 22 October and was sentenced to eight weeks in prison
The court heard how, on the previous day, Monday (21 October), Doano approached a woman on the platform at Bangor station and sat down next to her. He then put his arm around her before she managed to get away.
Doano followed her to an overbridge and blocked her exit.
A member of rail staff witnessed the incident and called BTP. Officers arrived and promptly arrested Doano and took him into custody where he was remanded until his court appearance.
Investigating officer PC Jack Payton said: “This woman going about her life, minding her own business when Doano approached her and acted in an intimidating and threatening manner.
"The swift action by officers and rail staff, resulted in his swift arrest and subsequent sentence."
