Witness appeal following serious assault - Beckenham Junction

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was stabbed at Beckenham Junction.

At around 3.56pm on 27 March, we received reports of two men fighting while entering a train at Shortlands railway station. A man sustained serious injures consistent with being stabbed.

Officers attended, alongside colleagues from the Metropolitan Police Service and the London Ambulance Service, and the victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Enquiries are ongoing and there have been no arrests so far.

The victim remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries. His family have been informed.

Assistant Chief Constable Allan Gregory said: “This is an incredibly concerning incident which took place in front of other passengers in broad daylight.  

Overnight and into Thursday, there will be an enhanced police presence at stations in the area as officers continue to carry out extensive enquiries.
