Policing plans for Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday.

Assistant Chief Constable Sean O'Callaghan, said:

"We have been made aware of planned demonstrations taking place today, Saturday 11 November, at London Waterloo Station, Victoria Station and Charing Cross.

"We fully respect the right of people to protest lawfully but where we believe this could cause serious disruption to the railway services, we must take action.

"Due to the significant disruption we feel these demonstrations may cause to the rail network and safety of the public, we have obtained consent to utilise powers under Section 14a of the Public Order Act 1986 which enables police to make an order prohibiting a trespassory assembly. Section 14a orders will be in place for London Waterloo Station, Victoria Station and Charing Cross Station between 10am and 11pm. To organise or take part in an assembly during the prohibition commits an offence.

"Officers will be patrolling in their numbers across the rail network and at railway stations throughout the weekend, providing a visible reassurance and ensuring the safety of members of the public.

"Abuse, intimidation or violence, particularly that which is religiously motivated, will not be tolerated and our officers will respond robustly to anyone who seeks to cause harm or incite hate."

“Yfory a thros y penwythnos gall y cyhoedd ddisgwyl gweld ymgyrch blismona sylweddol, gyda mwy o bresenoldeb yr heddlu ym mhob gorsaf reilffordd ac ar draws y rhwydwaith rheilffyrdd.

“Mae nifer o wrthdystiadau i fod i gael eu cynnal dros y penwythnos a diogelwch y cyhoedd yw ein prif flaenoriaeth o hyd.  Bydd ein swyddogion yno i roi tawelwch meddwl gweladwy ac i sicrhau diogelwch y rheini sydd mewn canolfannau trafnidiaeth neu sy’n teithio drwyddynt.

“Ni fydd sarhau, brawychu na thrais, yn arbennig yr hyn sydd wedi’i ysgogi gan grefydd, yn cael ei oddef a bydd ein swyddogion yn ymateb yn gadarn i unrhyw un sy’n ceisio achosi niwed neu ysgogi casineb.”

"Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday are both important and significant occasions in the calendar, where thousands of people come together to pay their respects and remember those who lost their lives during conflict.

"Tomorrow and across the weekend the public can expect to see a significant policing operation, with increased police presence at all railway stations and across the rail network.

"There are a number of demonstrations due to take place over the course of the weekend and the safety of the public remains our top priority. Our officers will be there to provide a visible reassurance and to ensure the safety of those at transport hubs or travelling through.

"Abuse, intimidation, or violence, particularly that which is religiously motivated, will not be tolerated and our officers will respond robustly to anyone who seeks to cause harm or incite hate."

“Rydym yn llwyr barchu hawl pobol i brotestio’n gyfreithlon ond lle rydym yn credu y gallai hyn achosi aflonyddwch difrifol i’r gwasanaethau rheilffordd, rhaid i ni weithredu.

“Oherwydd yr aflonyddwch sylweddol rydym yn teimlo y gallai’r gwrthdystiadau hyn ei achosi i’r rhwydwaith rheilffyrdd a diogelwch y cyhoedd, rydym wedi cael caniatâd i ddefnyddio pwerau o dan Adran 14a o Ddeddf Trefn Gyhoeddus 1986 sy’n galluogi’r heddlu i wneud gorchymyn yn gwahardd cynulliad tresmasol. Bydd gorchmynion Adran 14a yn eu lle ar gyfer Gorsaf Waterloo Llundain, Gorsaf Victoria a Gorsaf Charing Cross rhwng 10am ac 11pm. Mae trefnu neu gymryd rhan mewn cynulliad yn ystod y gwaharddiad yn drosedd.
