British Transport Police officers stationed across Ilford, Stratford and West Ham have bought and donated Easter Eggs to nearby hospitals.
The initiative, created and spurred on by PC Ryan Cord, part of Ilford Sector Response, delivered the treats to NHS staff last week.
The staff were incredibly grateful and will hand out the eggs to children on Easter Sunday.
The Easter Eggs were delivered to local hospitals:
His Sergeant Emily Fennell said: “It’s initiatives like these that really help show the community side of policing. I’d like to thank Ryan for being the brains behind it and all his colleagues for donating.
“Things like this this show the job is not just about policing crime. It’s about being part of the community, working alongside members of the public and building strong connections with the people we protect.”
