Detectives trying to identify a man who died on the railway tracks near Irlam station, Salford, are today appealing for information.
On Monday 6 September at 9pm, officers were called to Irlam station following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, however sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious, but despite extensive enquiries officers have been unable to identify the man and his family.
The man is described as white, with a long grey beard and of medium build. He was wearing a Trakker D green anorak coat, with a green football shirt and grey tracksuit bottoms. He was also wearing a green Von Dutch cap and red Nike trainers.
