Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward after several trains were hit with projectiles near Cambridge North railway station.
The six incidents happened between Saturday 18 January to Sunday 2 February with damage caused to trains and several delayed or cancelled services. No injuries have been reported.
The projectiles have caused damage to the outer pane of glass on double-glazed windows but not entered the carriages.
T/Detective Inspector Charlotte Collins said: “These are very serious incidents of endangering safety on the railway and can incur a significant custodial sentence.
“Passengers will see an increased police presence in the area and we are working with the rail industry to tackle this issue.”
