CCTV image released after woman sexually assaulted on train – Essex

Officers investigating a sexual assault on a train at Colchester station are today releasing this CCTV image in connection.

At 1.20pm on Thursday 15 December 2022, a woman waiting in the café at Colchester station was approached by a man who asked if she could watch his bag while he went to the till.

He asked her how he could get to his destination before they both boarded a train on the fourth platform.

As the woman went to sit down, the man followed her and sexually assaulted her.

She pushed him away and moved further down the carriage. The man then got off the train and left the scene.

Officers believe the man in the CCTV image may have information which could help their investigation.
