Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a stabbing at Imperial Wharf station yesterday evening.
Officers were called to Imperial Wharf railway station just after 5.20pm yesterday (18 June) to reports of an assault. Paramedics attended and a 20-year old man was treated for injuries consistent with being stabbed.
The man was taken to hospital with potentially life changing injuries, and he remains in hospital. No arrests have been made in connection at this time.
DS Marc Farmer said “There is absolutely no place for violence on the railway network, and detectives are working at pace to investigate this incident. Passengers will see an increased police presence at the station while officers carry out their enquiries.
“We know the station was busy at the time of the incident and many people may have seen what happened or the events leading up to it, so we are urging anyone with information to get in touch and assist us with our enquiries.”
Officers urge witnesses, or anyone else with information who is yet to speak to police, to get in touch by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 553 of 18 June.
Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
