Officers are appealing for witnesses after an incident on-board a train travelling between Dalmuir and Larkhall.
At just before 11.30pm on Monday 19 July, a man boarded the service heading to Larkhall at Argyle Street station in Glasgow.
He then walked through the carriage and spoke to people on-board, including two 14-year-old girls who told him to leave them alone.
It is then reported that the man touched another female inappropriately before getting off the train at Larkhall just before midnight.
The man is described as white and bald with a long grey beard and in his late fifties or early sixties. He was dressed in a green khaki t-shirt, blue jeans and black sunglasses.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone on-board the service who may have witnessed the incident to help their investigation.
