Appeal for witnesses following attempted murder – Leicester Square, London

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the attempted murder of a woman at Leicester Square station last week. 

Officers were called to the station shortly after 15:30pm on Monday, 6 November following reports of a man attempting to push a woman in front of an incoming train. 

It was reported that the victim was waiting on the platform at the station when she saw the suspect arguing with an elderly man. The suspect then walked over, grabbed her arm, and began dragging her. She managed to briefly get away. 

As the train approached, the suspect then grabbed the victim’s arm again and began pushing her towards the tracks. 

Two other passengers intervened and pulled her away from him. The suspect is then reported to have boarded the train. 

The suspect is described as a male believed to be in his late 20’s with a muscular build, wearing a beige scarf over his head and a short puffer jacket.
