Detectives are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information following a violent incident on-board a Victoria line Tube yesterday afternoon (23 November).
Officers were called to Stockwell Underground station at 2.52pm on 23 November to reports of a fight on-board a northbound Victoria line Tube.
Two males, aged 16 and 18, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and being in possession of offensive weapons at the location. Paramedics conveyed them both to local hospitals for treatment.
The 18-year-old was treated for minor injuries and has since been discharged to police custody. The 16-year-old remains in hospital receiving treatment on two puncture wounds – his injuries are potentially life-changing but not life-threatening.
Detective Inspector Paul Attwell said: “This was a particularly violent incident on a busy Tube service that has resulted in a young man sustaining serious injuries.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who was on-board the Tube at the time or at Stockwell Underground station as they may have information that could greatly assist our investigation.
“Witnesses, or anyone with information, can contact us by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 341 of 23 November.
“Passengers can expect to see additional officers at Stockwell Underground station following the incident and I would urge the public to approach them if they have any concerns or information relating to yesterday’s incident.”
