British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery.
The incident happened at around 3.40pm on Thursday 29 June on the steps at Mile End underground station.
The 14-year-old victim was standing on the steps at the entrance to the station when a boy approached him and threatened to slap him if he didn't hand over his phone.
He then demanded the boy's phone password which he refused to share before walking off towards the platforms.
The suspect is described as being black and aged around 16-years-old, around 5ft 9ins tall, with a slim build, wearing a black blazer and black clothing.
Officers are hoping to hear from any witnesses who may have information that could help their investigation.
