Supporting Samaritans' new campaign

Supporting Samaritans' new campaign to help reduce suicide on the railways

A new Samaritans and Network Rail campaign aims to reduce suicides on the railways by 20% over five years.

Samaritans We're in your corner campaign

Research shows that working class men in their 30s, 40s and 50s are those most at risk of suicide. BTP are supporting the new campaign We’re In Your Corner, covering the rail network in England, Scotland and Wales, which will help people working in suicide prevention to understand more about this group and reach out to them.

Three images, featuring men of different ages — a soldier, a workman and a boxing trainer — appear in campaign posters to reach out to male audiences to increase awareness of Samaritans’ support services among people who may be struggling to cope.

The posters will be displayed at rail locations across the rail network — look out for these posters at a station/depot/office near you.
