Misconduct Hearing Outcome - PC Ben Godwin
On Monday 5th August 2024 an Accelerated Misconduct Hearing took place at BTP Force Headquarters, Camden Road, London regarding PC Ben Godwin. The hearing was Chaired by the Chief Constable. PC Godwin did not attend.
On Monday 1st July 2024 PC Godwin attended Westminster Magistrates Court charged with Common Assault contrary to (s)39 Criminal Justice Act 1988, having been involved in a domestic incident at his home address in May 2023.
PC Godwin was found guilty at court and is awaiting sentencing.
The conduct was alleged to breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour regarding Discreditable Conduct and to be so serious as to amount to gross misconduct.
The Chair found the allegation proven and PC Godwin was dismissed without notice
