We all want to be safe when using the internet, but sometimes
things can go wrong. There are steps you can take to protect
yourself or, if you’re a parent or carer, your child from potential
harm online.
Thinkuknow
Child Exploitation
and Online Protection (CEOP) is part of the
National Crime Agency and works to protect children online and
offline. Its Thinkuknow
website is full of practical advice about using the
internet safely for:
5 – 7 year olds
- 8 – 10 year olds
- 11 – 13 year olds
- Over 14s
- Parents and carers
- Teachers and trainers
It also has advice about what to do if you feel that something
isn't quite right when using the internet and how to report
something that has happened to you, or if you're a parent or carer,
your child online.
