All of Britain’s station operators welcome rail enthusiasts to their stations. We want you to have a safe and enjoyable experience every time you visit.

Before you enter the platform:

Please speak to a member of station staff when you arrive so they are aware of your presence and what you are doing.

Please be aware of your surroundings. We kindly ask you to take note of any unusual behaviour and activities and report anything suspicious to us or a member of staff.

Please remember:

  • Stay clear of the platform edge and behind the yellow lines where they are provided.
  • Be careful not to trespass onto any area of the railway that is not available to passengers as you will be risking your own life and the safety of others.
  • Don't climb on or obstruct any structure or interfere with platform equipment or signs.
  • Avoid wearing anything similar in colour to safety clothing, such as a high-visibility jacket as this could be confusing for train drivers or other employees.
  • Please avoid congregating at busy areas (eg customer information points, departure screens, waiting areas, seating) or where you may interfere with the duties of station staff.
Photography:

You can take photographs at stations for personal use.

For any commercial photography, you must seek prior permission from the appropriate train operator or Network Rail.

If you use a tripod, please ensure it doesn't obstruction other passengers, keep it away from platform edges and behind the yellow line.

You're not allowed to use flash photography on platforms as it is a potential safety hazard. We also ask that you do not take photographs of security related equipment such as CCTV cameras.
