Don’t be a victim:

Carry your bag in front of you and keep all zips and fasteners closed.
Keep wallets, mobile phones and mp3 players in a secure inside pocket.
Keep an eye on your belongings at all times, especially when leaving bags and rucksacks in the luggage area of buses, Tubes and trains.
Mark your valuables with a permanent UV pen.

If you think your property has been stolen:

Be calm and don’t panic. Report it to a member of transport staff or a police officer straight away.
Report a theft on the Tube to British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40.
Report a theft on the bus to the Metropolitan Police Service on 101.
In an emergency dial 999 or speak to a member of transport staff or the police.

Hundreds of items are handed in to TfL lost property every week. Visit tfl.gov.uk/lostproperty
Remember, it’s an offence to report something stolen if you have actually lost it.
