Welcome to the Scottish Area Neighbourhood
Policing internet pages. These pages are designed to help the
travelling public and other stakeholders access their local
Neighbourhood policing teams.
Neighbourhood Policing in Scotland continues
to present us with a unique set of challenges. Scotland’s railways
have never been safer; recorded crime has fallen in each of the
last four years. With this successful backdrop, we continue to
remain focussed on making the railway in Scotland a crime free
environment for all who work and travel on the system.
Neighbourhood policing plays a key role in our
successes and leads directly to the improved confidence of everyone
who uses the network.
We have been listening to our communities and
since April 2009 we have increased our compliment of Neighbourhood
policing officers, with the introduction of a further three
dedicated Neighbourhood policing teams across the network.
Our officers are keen to hear from their
communities, I would urge you to get in touch with any concerns you
may have. We look forward to working closely together with all our
partners to make Scotland’s railways even safer.
After attending the national
launch of the LGBT Youth Scotland “Voices
Unheard” project into domestic abuse, we can say with
confidence that British Transport Police (BTP) already
comply with the recommendations made in the report. All BTP
officers currently receive training in all aspects of diversity
awareness as well as providing active outreach support to a variety
of groups, including LGBT youth. The
report also highlighted a perception that complaints would not be
taken seriously and confidentiality may not be
maintained. It is BTP policy that every report made
will be investigated thoroughly, professionally and with equal
respect regardless of race, gender, sexuality or any other
factor. For more information get in touch or speak to one of
our officers in confidence. Your voice will be heard.
British Transport Police is committed to tackling sectarianism,
and any form of hate crime, wherever it is found and continuously
monitors our policies to ensure equality and fairness. BTP has a
mission to keep the railways free from disruption and the fear of
crime, and provide the highest quality of service to our
communities and stakeholders.
