Current neighbourhood policing
priorities for February 2012

1. Anti Social Behaviour occurring
at Ellesmere Port Station between 6pm and 10pm
|
Actions
- Officers are targeting specific hotspots
by using high visibility patrols. They are liaising with railway
staff and passengers and carrying out revenue / ticket checks with
revenue inspectors.
- Stop checks and searches of youths have been
carried out during peak travel times.
Officers have liaised with the local home office force and passed
on intelligence / details of reported offenders.
- Crime reduction officers have visited the
station and Mersey Rail have approved funding of CCTV.
- Operation shield incorporates a knife
arch and a drugs dog, it has been utilised at
Ellesmere Port, Hooton, Little Sutton and Overpool Stations.

2. Late night disorder at
Bromborough railway station (Weekends)
|
Actions
- Officers are carrying out high-visiblity
patrols on late night trains and station platform.
- Police Community Support Officers are
liaising with the local community.
- There has been a multi-agency approach
with Merseyside Police and Merseyrail to drive down crime at this
station.
- 1 person has been arrested for causing
disorder onboard a train.

crossing awareness at Carlton Lane, Carr Lane, Sandringham and
Tolans crossing |
Actions
- Officers will be liaising with the local community at each of
the identified crossings
- The officers will be handing out leaflets and educating members
of the public regarding level crossings.
- The policing team are also working in conjunction with Network
Rail, The Office of Rail Regulators and Merseyrail Electrics
to enforce railway safety messages.

Vikings youth

Officers will be assisting and observing
local youths who will be designing, then painting a
railway wall promoting railway safety. Officers will be there
on the following dates:

Tranmere Rovers respect programme,
Prenton Road West, CH42 9PY
This is a multi agency event for local Primary
Schools in the area or children in care.
Agencies who attend
are: BTP, Merseyside Police, Fire
Service, Ambulance service, Wirral dog
wardens, Merseyrail Electrics and Tranmere youth
workers. The event is used to promote policing of the railways and
rail safety. next event date is

local Neighbourhood Policing
Team).
This is to enable public to voice any concerns
or issues they wish to bring to the attention of the police or just
meet your local neighbourhood policing officer.

Drop in
surgeries
At Birkenhead Central railway station, Birkenhead CH41

Officers will be holding drop in surgeries at
the train driver and guard booking on point on the following
dates:-

Wednesday 22nd February 2012 11.00am to
1.00pm
The drop in surgeries are an opportunity for
rail staff to meet and engage with their local officers. They can
raise concerns and report any issues.

play and highlighting the role of BTP including Rail Safety.

PACT (Police
and Community Together) Meetings
PACT meetings are open to everyone living or
spending time in that particular Local Policing Team area.
They are planned, advertised days when a Local Neighbourhood
Officer will attend a particular location on a given day at a given
time. These meetings provide the community with access to
their Local Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) where they can talk
on a one to one basis about issues specific to their local
neighbourhood.

Awareness At-:
