Two separate beggars have been reported at
location.

Patrols have taken place at
this location and liaison with station staff have resulted in
reduced calls to the area. Suspected offenders have been identified
and a Case Intervention Group meeting is being attended with GMP
homeless unit and ASB team to provide a long term solution to this
problem.

The Big Issue office has also been
liaised with to advise sellers of un authorised selling on the
station,as Intel suggests an offender may be associated with
them..

4. Knutsford - ASB on trains
between Altricham and Knutsford by school pupils

Actions

Partnership working with the school &
train operator has led to implementing a restorative justice
“Yellow Card Scheme”, this is an educational mechanism rather than
using criminal justice measures. To date in excess of 30 pupils
have received “Yellow Cards”, with only 2 repeat offenders
receiving red cards and subject to the full judicial
process.

Under the banner of Operation Portcullis, a
knife arch and passive drugs dog operation was deployed to
Altrincham to target end of year school ASB. This was carried out
in conjunction with GMP, Metrolink and Northern revenue
staff. As a result, 5 offenders were dealt with for drugs
offences and 60 people were reported by the revenue staff for
having no ticket. The final results of the yellow card scheme
,is that there has been a reduction in ASB by 73% and revenue
increase by over £34,000 per annum

5. Glossop and Hadfield – Youth
causing ASB

Partnership working with Derbyshire Police
& the local PACT team.

A property marking scheme was carried out
to deter thefts of mobile phones and a passive drugs dog operation
was carried out at both locations and within the town centres, with
several offenders being detected for drugs offences.

A yellow card restorative justice scheme has
now been agreed with Derbyshire police and will look to be
implemented for the next school year

Upcoming events
Police and Community Together (PACT)
Meetings
PACT meetings are open to everyone living or spending time in
that particular Local Policing Team area. They are planned,
advertised days when a Local Neighbourhood Officer will attend a
particular location on a given day at a given time. These
meetings provide the community with access to their Local
Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) where they can talk on a one to
one basis about issues specific to their local neighbourhood.
Newton for Hyde PACT meeting will be held on
July 28 at 2.00 pm at Acresfield Community Ship, Acresfield Road,
Newton for Hyde.
Abbey HeyPACT Meeting (Gorton) will be held on
20th August at 7.00 pm at The Community Room, Belle Vue House,
Garrat Way, M18 8HE
South East Sector PACT meeting will be held
on Thursday 23rd September at 1.00 pm at BTP Area
Headquarters, 2nd Floor, 1 Portland Street, Manchester M1
3BE.
Crucial Crew Events
Crucial Crew is a multi agency event involving British Transport
Police, local police, fire service, ambulance service, road safety,
drugs awareness and computer safety and environmental health.
To educate year 6 primary school pupils in safety issues prior to
the pupils becoming more independent travellers when commuting to
high school.
Rochdale Crucial Crew will be held 13th
September to 24th September and 15th November to 26th
November
67 primary schools totalling 2288 pupils will be attending
the event at Bury Metro Link officers, Bury, Greater Manchester
Salford Crucial Crew will be held 4th
October to 22nd October and 1st November to 12th
November
82 primary schools totalling 2800 pupils will be attending the
event at Bury Metro Link Officers, Bury, Greater Manchester
Manchester Piccadilly Station/Network Rail
meetings to discuss recent issues and promote closer
working relationships and problem solving ideas. These will
take place on July 29th and August 5th,12th and 19th at 12.00
noon.
Handforth Community Fair - August 5th at 9.00 am to 5.00
pm
A local community fair held at Handforth station in company with
rail enthusiast groups. This event will be held at Meriton
Road Park Community Centre, Handforth.
Manchester Piccadilly Multi Agency
Community Fun Day Event 8th August at 1.00 pm to 4.00
pm
A community event attended by emergency
services to inform and educate member’s of the public about what we
do and how we can help them.
