Current neighbourhood policing
priorities
| 1. Reduce theft from passengers
on trains and station on the Victoria Line between Warren Street
and Walthamstow Tube Stations. |
Theft offences currently make up over 50% of reported
crime on the Victoria Line.
We/our partners have:
In the month of November &
December
-
High visibility Police
patrols continued.
-
Theft offences
recorded in November and December 2011 was 22, which
is an increase of 2 offences based on the previous 2 months.
During December there were also 2 entire days spent tackling the
problem of theft on the London Underground and as a result only one
offence of theft was recorded on the entire Victoria Line.
In the month of January
- Crime prevention advice will continue to be given to the
travelling public at key locations and at key times of the
day.
|
| 2. Reduce the level of service
disruption on the Victoria Line as a result of trespass
reports. |
You Said :
The performance target for disruption offences
for the Victoria line was set and based upon the previous
years level of offences. Driver reports have resulted in
significant delays to service whilst track searches have been
undertaken as it has been unclear whether those seen trespassing
have left the confines of the Station and entered the tunnel.
Result
The number of minutes in disruption to the Victoria Line based
on the number of disruption offences before the policing priority
was identified was approximately 188 minutes. Up until January 2012
there has only been one offence of trespass on the Victoria
Line and this was while engineering work was taking place and
therefore there were no recorded minutes of disruption.
Offences of trespass on the line will continue to be
monitored.
