Last year, covering the period 1 April 2010 to
31 March 2011, there were 130 theft related offences reported on
the Piccadilly Line West. This amounted to 18% of the overall crime
of this group. Of these 130 thefts, 79 were committed on the train
and 51 were reported off the train amounting to 61% and 39%
respectively.
We/our partners have:
In the month of December
- officers have carried out Anti-theft patrols and handed
out leaflets to the public at Heathrow
- officers have provided Crime Prevention information at Acton
Town Station
- The anti theft DVD has been rolled out by London
Underground management to staff and they are on track to having
staff viewed it by the end of the year.
In the month of January
- Train patrols Heathrow – South Harrow Revenue and station
visits
A comparative check with year to date figures shows another
decrease in theft offences since the last update at the beginning
of December.
01/12/2011 – 31/12/2011 10 offences
01/12/2010 – 31/12/2010 11 offences
A decrease of 1 offence or just under 10% on
this period.
Since the commencement of the PSP the
comparative numbers are:
13/06/2011 – 30/11/2011 95 offences
13/06/2010 – 30/11/2010 73 offences
