Current neighbourhood policing priorities

 

1. Reduce the number of Staff Assault offences occurring on the Northern Line between Angel and Morden tube Stations

You Said:

 

This plan has been commissioned to address the rise in the number of assaults against staff.

 

Instances of staff assaults more than doubled from eight to seventeen.

 

Hot spot stations with the highest crimes recorded for Staff assaults were between Morden and Oval with 15 offences taking place. .

 

We/Our partners have:

 

In the month of February 2012

 

  • High-visibility patrols and reassurance for staff, static patrols at: South Wimbledon, through to Clapham Common
  • Joint revenue operation at Morden – Balham

 

In the month of March 2012

 

  • High visibility patrols and reassurance for staff, static patrols at: Morden, Colliers Wood, Tooting Bec, Clapham Common

  • Multiple fare evaders reported

2. Theft patrols on the Northern Line South NPT area with particular attention to, Old Street, Angel and Clapham Common

You Said:

Analysis shows that Theft offences equated to 26% of reported crime on the Northern Line South NPT area. The top three stations where theft offences are reported are Old Street, Angel and Clapham Common

In the month of February and March 2012

 

  • Ongoing High-visibility patrol at Claham Common, Stockwell, Morden
  • Plain Clothes patrols and static at Goodge St, Camden Town, Angel, Old Street Oval, Kennington
