Current neighbourhood policing priorities

1. Reduce Incidents of Theft from Ticket Machines

Result

As of January

As a result of this Priority there has been a 79% reduction of this type of crimes, the railway has seen a reduction in money lost. Furthermore, any damage to the ticket machines would require them to be fixed which in some cases would mean that passengers were not able to use/purchase tickets. Moreover, due to any criminal groups that would normally target these areas have now seized to operate in these areas, thus making the neighbourhood a much safer place for local residents and passengers using the DLR.  An increased police presence was positively received by the community as it provided a much needed reassurance.

2. Reduce revenue related staff assaults on the EAST and SIE legs

You Said:

This policing plan was raised earlier this year to deal with the staff assaults on the South Leg

We/our Partners have:

In the month of January

  •  Staff assaults from previous month scrutinised and Officers have relevant actions put in place.
  • BTP carried out DLR staff training on the conflict management module.
