Current neighbourhood policing priorities

1. Reduction of theft across the Circle Line Area

You Said:

Theft from person this year between 02/05/2011 – 31/10/2011 saw a total of 228 reported offences. Broken down and relating to the main station we wish to focus on these figures show that there were 59 thefts at Paddington, 70 at South Kensington.

We/Our partners have:

In the month of February 2012

  • Reduced theft from person by 62%.
  • Reduced theft of personal property by 43%.
  • Reduced theft of luggage by 100%.

This Problem Solving Plan will continue to run until the 1st May 2012.

2. Detecting and deterring ASB offences whilst reducing the fear of crime at Ladbroke Grove Tube Station

You Said:

Ladbroke Grove has been identified as a priority station at this present time due to information from London Underground staff that there is a fear of crime surrounding the area of Ladbroke Grove. There has been one particular incident involving anti-social behaviour problems with kids at the location and also several disorder issues. Staff report they are concerned about the entrance to the station with youths hanging around meeting up and then disappearing, then coming back a short while later. Metropolitan Police Service Intel Borough Office has identified high gang tension within the area of Ladbroke Grove.

We/Our partners have:

In the month of February 2012

  • After consultation with our partners at Ladbroke Grove Tube Station as well as the London Underground performance manager it has been agreed that this Problem Solving Plan will be closed at the next Police and Community Together meeting.
3. Reduce Staff Assaults at South Kensington and Gloucester Road Tube Stations

You Said:

Since April 2011 this year the number of reported staff assaults and any crime towards London Underground staff have increased. South Kensington London Underground Tube Station has had eight reported cases towards London Underground Staff and Gloucester Road London Underground Tube Station has had two.

This is not acceptable as London Underground staff should be able to come to work and not be in fear of crime. This policing plan has been raised due to the total of ten reported cases of crime towards London Underground staff.

We/Our partners have:

In the month of February 2012

  • There was 100% reduction in provocation of violence, 100% reduction in racially aggravated fear or provocation, and

    80% reduction common Assault.

This Problem Solving Plan will continue to run until the 1st May 2012.
