Neighbourhood Policing is an integral to how
the British Transport Police works in partnership with London
Underground and Docklands Light Railway
Teams of dedicated officers focus on their particular group of
stations, getting to know the staff and passengers who work and use
the station and surrounding area on a daily basis. Through
this daily contact, they identify problems quickly and deal with
them effectively. Ultimately working towards ensuring that
the area is free of crime and the fear of crime.
There are 21 Neighbourhood Policing Teams on
the Underground and Docklands Light Railway network as well as
two larger key HUB locations at Finsbury Park and
Stratford where officers also police the mainline. They
provide a highly visible presence and work together with the
travelling public, our industry partners and the wider railway
community to prevent and detect crime.
By working in partnership we can ensure that the rail network is
not only safe but also feels safe for all who work and travel on
it.
