Current neighbourhood policing
priorities
|
1. Anti-Social Behaviour
|
Low level
disorder and anti-social behaviour is an ongoing problem at most
stations in the neighbourhood. These offences occur at all times
and have a detrimental effect on the feeling of security by
commuters and staff alike.
Actions
- We will conduct high visibility patrols at the most
prominent locations.
- We will work in partnership with staff and other agencies
to robustly deal with those that behave in an anti-social
manner.
- We will engage in joint operations with local Metropolitan
Police and train operating companies.
Results
- During February 2012 we increased detections of
anti-social behaviour by over 40% when compared to February
2011.
|
|
2. Theft Passenger property
|
During August 2011 analysis of the crime figures for our
neighbourhood showed an increase in thefts of
personal property in some areas. We are determined to detect
and deter these offences from happening.
Actions
- We have increased proactive patrols in areas
showing an increase in offences.
- A problem solving profile has been created to
focus and record our efforts in tacking offenders.
- We are working with specialist crime squads to identify and
apprehend offenders.
Results
- As we enter March 2012 incidents of
theft of passenger property on our Neighbourhood continue to
fall, when compared to the same period in 2011:
- January 2012 shows a drop of 40%
- February 2012 shows a drop of 30%
|
|
3. Staff assaults
|
Preventing
staff assault remains a key focus for us and the train
operating companies. This concern is regularly raised at our
monthly
PACT
meetings.
Actions
- We work closely with our partners and provide a high
visibility presence and reassurance patrols on trains and stations,
to prevent offences and detect offenders.
- We are also conducting plain clothes patrols with revenue teams
at stations and on trains to ensure the revenue teams safety
and apprehend any offenders.
Results
- There have been no reports of any assaults on staff
members on our Neighbourhood in January or February
2012.
