Theft of Passenger Property

 

 

SPEEED Workshops (St. Pancras Education Engineering Enforcement and Disruption) was devised and initiated to focus on Theft of Passenger Property at St. Pancras. Workshops were held on the 15th, 21st and 23rd September and have been planned for 13th October and 2nd November.

 

OP. YALE - This operation is an ongoing operation having run since the beginning of November 2010 is being carried out by NPT officers to reduce the incidence of Theft of Passenger Property at St. Pancras station and other stations within the London North area.

Regular deployments of crime reduction stands at key locations staffed by officers are on hand to give crime prevention advice and property marking. Pro-Active engagement with passengers pointing out vulernable property to reduce opportunist crimes. Intelligence submitted on persons acting suspiciously. High visibilty patrols of locations during times highlighted by crime analysis has being peak-times for these types of offences.  

 

02/09/11 - Op. Andes (4) this Theft of Passenger Property operation was run between 1800 - 2200hrs involving Tasking and NPT officers at St. Pancras. Results: 1 stop and engagements were carried out and no arrests made.

 

12/08/11 - Op. Yale was run at St. Pancras International. NPT officers offered passengers crime-reduction advice and the opportunity to property mark their items. Results: crime reduction leaflets and travels safe advice given to passengers.

 

29/07/11 - Op. Damson (6) was run at St. Pancras International. NPT officers visited stations and offered passengers crime-reduction advice and the opportunity to property mark their items. Results: 28 bike tags, cycle theft leaflets and travel safe advice given to cyclist in the NCP car park.  

 

07/03/11 - Op. Yale (LN Hub-Week) was run from Monday 7th March till Friday 11th March across London North's 5 mainline stations. NPT officers visited stations and offered passengers crime-reduction advice and the opportunity to property mark their items.

 

04/02/11 - Officers engaged in high-visibilty patrols, arrested a male suspected of an attempted theft of property from a passenger at Costa Coffee. Male has been charged and will appear at the City of Westminister magistrates court at the end of February.
