Kings Cross new concourse opening

We're delighted to announce the opening of the new concourse at King's Cross which occurred on Monday 19th March 2012. This completes the first phase of the redevelopment to transform your station into a world-class transport hub, fit for the 21st Century and a station to be proud of. After years in the making, the new western concourse now offers passengers a destination like no other.

With such an exciting new mix of things to do - how will you start your journey at King's Cross. For more information please see the Network Rail website.

Peabody Trust ‘Staying Safe Project’ in conjunction with BTP.

The Peabody Trust Community

Saying No to Knife Crime starting from February 2010 and finishing in January 2013.

With the support from a dedicated team of a Project Manager, youth workers and specialist contractors, young people will develop and manage an interactive website providing online advice and support to those engaged or on the brink of engagement with gangs and/or knife crime. This gives the young people the opportunity to voice their own opinions on the development of pro-social behaviours and how this relates to their own communities in a safe and equal forum.

Although only in its planning stages the project aims to help young local people gain a greater understanding of the impact of violence, gun and knife crime in their schools and communities thereby introducing discussion on  non-violent alternatives that promote social change.

Young people aged 13-19 will design, develop and manage a campaign providing free learning activities for other young people to help them tackle the issue of violence. By taking a lead role, young people will develop new skills and knowledge in campaigning, website development and facilitating discussions in youth groups and schools, which will increase their employability and economic well being for the future.

BTP and Peabody hope to develop with Newlon Fusion youth workers providing  'Weapon Awareness’' sessions, ‘Crime stoppers’, and on going Group Work sessions.

As an incentive to keep young people interested, BTP would provide four free trips a year and a plain clothed police officer to accompany for young people and youth workers on trips
