Secure your bike in Op Wiggins day of action

Passenger bikes made more secure in Op Wiggins day of action

Published: Monday, 8 December
We encouraged passengers across the country to make sure their bike is properly secured at stations and come to one of our cycle marking surgeries on Tuesday, 9 December.

During the day of action our officers held cycle surgeries at stations across Britain, giving crime prevention advice to passengers and offering security marking for their bikes.

Officers were also on patrol with covert and high-profile operations to catch cycle thieves in the act and worked closely with Home Office police forces to share information and manage offenders.

Last year 5318 bikes were stolen with an estimated value of over £1.5million were stolen from Britain’s train stations alone.
