PC Yakubu Musah

Dealing with the travelling public does have its challenges. The most difficult thing I have to deal with is a when someone tragically takes their own life on the railway. You have to have sympathy for the bereaved, but also deal with the case professionally.

My time in the Army really helped me in dealing with these difficult situations. I also feel fully supported at BTP and if you are suffering from any trauma they have teams there to help you.

BTP is a great force to work for, as we are a small police force you are well looked after. There is career progression and lots of opportunities depending on what you want to do.

I would say there is no one set person who’s built to be a Police Officer, you learn how to become one.

I speak five languages – Twi, Hausa, Mose, Fanti and English. Everyone has their unique points that they can bring to policing.

To anyone reading this I would say come and join BTP – it’s a great force, you won’t regret it. We will take care of you.
