British Transport Police (BTP) publishes its Policing Plans
every year. The Strategic Plan is published every three
years.
BTP works within the structure of a three-year Strategic Plan.
This is widely consulted upon, agreed with the Police Authority and
sets out what the Force intends to do and deliver over a three
year period.
Annual Policing Plans set out how we will deliver those
strategic aims at a national and Area level. They include the
objectives we are striving to achieve over 12 months and the
targets against which our success will be measured. They cover both
local and national objectives, ensuring we strike the right balance
between local and national needs.
The Strategic and Policing Plans are the building blocks upon
which we base performance and strive for success. Whatever activity
BTP officers and staff are engaged in, it should directly relate to
one of our strategic aims or Policing Plan objectives.
