Community Volunteer Scheme
What are community
volunteers?
Community volunteers provide invaluable
support helping us to provide a better service to the community and
allowing our officers to spend more time on the railways. By
becoming a volunteer you’ll become part of our team and learn from
the inside how a modern police force works. In return for your
commitment, we’ll help you gain valuable skills in areas such as IT
and communication and we’ll provide you with training for your
specific role.
What kind of roles could I be
doing?
We have a variety of interesting and rewarding
roles including:
- Working on crime
reduction initiatives
- Organising and
recording community meetings
- Dealing with
public enquiries at your front counter offices
- Creating
newsletters
- Providing
administrative support to police officers and staff
- Joining our puppy
development scheme
- Supporting
community activities and many more
A full list of current volunteering
opportunities will be available here soon. In the meantime, please
contact the volunteer manager for opportunities in your
area.
We are constantly developing volunteering
opportunities so if we don’t have something for you straight away
then we will try and utilise your skills as soon as we can!
What type of people are you looking
for?
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds
with all levels of experience. You don’t need specific
qualifications or a particular skill to become a community
volunteer. You just need time to give and the enthusiasm to make a
difference.
We do require volunteers to be over the age of
18 and to have had permanent residency in the UK for 3 years or
longer.
