BTP’s work with communities is an
integral part of our commitment to safeguard the rail network and
the millions of passengers who use it every day. We are always
striving to improve our service but we can’t do this alone. As an
organisation that serves the public we are accountable for
everything we do, and working with others is a vital part of doing
our job.
BTP works with the communities we
serve to develop our policing plan. By engaging with individuals
and groups we can better understand their needs and respond
accordingly. We work in partnership with others to pursue our
strategic aims; by using the resources we have, we can develop
partnerships that are effective and efficient.
Neighbourhood policing is just one example
of how we are working in partnership with local communities to
determine local policing priorities. Through dedicated and
accessible teams, this programme is making policing more responsive
to the needs of the travelling public.
