British Transport Police is divided into seven territorial areas. More than 4,000 police officers, special constables, police community support officers and police staff provide a specialist policing service across the national railway system, Docklands Light Railway, the London Underground, the Midland Metro and Croydon Tramlink systems. The seven areas are:
